The Belize National Prayer

National Prayer

Almighty and Eternal God, who through Jesus Christ
has revealed Your Glory to all nations, please protect
and preserve Belize, our beloved country.

God of might, wisdom and justice, please assist our
Belizean government and people with your Holy Spirit
of counsel and fortitude.

Let your light of Your divine wisdom direct their plans
and endeavours so that with Your help we may attain
our just objectives. With Your guidance, may all our
endeavours tend to peace, social justice, liberty, national
happiness, the increase of industry, sobriety and useful knowledge.

We pray, O God of Mercy, for all of us that we may be
blessed in the knowledge and sanctified in the
observance of Your most holy law, that we may be
preserved in union and in peace which the world
itself cannot give. And, after enjoying the blessings of
this life, please admit us, dear Lord, to that eternal
reward that You have prepared for those who love You.

Amen.

Why Pray and Fast

I don't know what people are going to get out of a day of Prayer and Fasting, or if it will change Belize.  However, I do know that when people pray together or come together in collective consciousness, miracles happen, when people fast or practice self control, people become aware of to their purpose or mission in life, and when they pray and fast together, whole communities are impacted.  Research has been done on the power of collective consciousness and meditation.  Crime rates have been shown to drop during the designated time of Prayer and Meditation.  In the United State we are familiar with how the collective action of the youth of the 1960s influences the US during war times.  One of my favorite characters in the Bible is Ester.  Ester asked that all her people Pray and Fast, which resulted in her being courageous to speak up to the king to save her people and in the king's mercy to her people.  We are requesting all Belizeans to commit to Pray and to Fast with us no matter where they are.  Finally, I know from my personal experience that people people are moving to Belize all around me to make a difference there.  Others are now considering going back home to Belize to live after resolving for so many years not to.  I believe there is an awakening and a push for people to go to Belize and do great things.  So again, I don't know what is going to be stirred up in our hearts, but I know that we all have a desire to see Belize thrive, to be abundant and to be brilliant.  So with that heart and with spiritual guidance in each heart, I know anything is possible.  Even a new paradigm is possible, one of generosity, brilliance, courage, and a great love for people.

The Vision for Belize and her People.

Belizeans in the US would be in action in their own life, having a full sense of satisfaction and fulfillment in their lives, they would have a deep sense of gratitude to the people who sacrificed so they could have this great life, they would have a generous heart for people beyond just their family but for all people, and they would have a sense of urgency for helping the people of Belize and their Nation, Belize.  The impact would be great for Belize, just like light flushes out darkness, the same thing would happen on the streets of Belize.  How could crime, abuse, drugs, and corruption persist if people didn't stand for it anymore, if they did not tolerate it anymore, if we were in action for a bright, abundant, and glorious Belize.  But how can this be, what can happen to basically create a new paradigm?  It seems all too good, and just not possible, because of this or of that.  While fasting last week, I had some thoughts in response to this question: Prayer and Fasting, Collective Consciousness and Intention, a Prayer Meeting, and breaking fast with a commitment to the future. One day where Belizeans came to a prayer meeting to pray for Belize, to pray for people in Belize that they care about, and for deliverance of whatever is stopping them from fulfilling on their desire to help people, and to help Belize.  The fast would be broken with a meal we shared together, everyone would share with the people at their table what they got out of fasting that day, what was revealed to them or what they are going to commit to in life.  Then we would have a time for people to say, in front of their community of Belizeans, their commitment that they will live their life with.  Through the internet this day of Prayer and Fasting would be available for people to participate where ever they are.  It could be available for many groups and communities to participate with us on the same day.  That is why this blog has been created, so that everyone, everywhere can come together in a conscious effort for Belize through Prayer and Fasting.
